Olivier Awards

Chester Barrie at the Olivier Awards 2017

14.06.17

The 41st Olivier Awards were held at the Royal Albert Hall in early April and Chester Barrie took centre stage.

The Oliviers celebrate great British theatre and recognise excellence in the West End, the heart of Theatreland. The star-studded guest list features names from stage and screen; and the audience is treated to excerpts from some of the past year’s hit shows.

Chester Barrie is the official formalwear partner and therefore dressed many of the presenters and nominees. Star of the night was Jason Manford, who hosted the awards wearing a Chester Barrie peaked lapel, single breasted, black dinner suit. While double award winner Matthew Bourne looked fantastic in his silk jacquard jacket.

Other stars wearing Chester Barrie included Julian Clary, who presented the best new comedy award, and Tom Hollander who was nominated for best actor. Meanwhile, Tim Minchin, who won for his production of Groundhog Day, performed a piece from the show wearing a classic, black peak lapel Chester Barrie dinner suit. Winner of Best Supporting Actor in a Musical was Adam J Bernard for his role in Dreamgirls; he wore a beautiful navy jacquard, shawl collared db jacket.
