Tigers get set for World Cup honours.

A number of Leicester Tigers players have been called up for their national training squads in preparation for this year’s Rugby World Cup, which is being held in England starting 18th September.

Needless to say, England has the highest number of Tigers players, including the Youngs brothers, Tom and Ben, as well as prop forward Dan Cole and second row Ed Slater. Meanwhile Morcos Ayerza will represent Argentina and Robert Barbieri and Leonardo Ghiraldini will turn out for Italy. Vereniki Goneva will represent Fiji.

No World Cup matches are scheduled for Welford Road, home of the Tigers, however in the build-up to the event Argentina will play a warm-up game on 5th September against a Leicester side keen to capture an international scalp.
